Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes 36 cookies · ~180 calories per serving (estimated) · 11 min prep · 12 min cook

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to the batter along with the salt. Stir in flour and chocolate chips.
  3. Drop spoonfuls onto an ungreased pan. Bake about 10–15 mins.
