Homemade Sugar Cookies

Makes 24 cookies · ~175 calories per serving (estimated) · 17 min prep · 9 min cook

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set to the side.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  5. Roll rounded tsp of dough into balls, and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 8 to 10 min or until golden brown.
